To all of you from Bert, Kristina, Isaac, Amelia, and Elias.
It has been a great year full of joy and blessings in the Martin household.
Bert is enjoying his work at Columbia Sportswear. He volunteered for the Columbia Hood to Coast team which was his impetus for getting back to his running. To try and help with his back pain, he added CrossFit to his work out routine and it has made a significant difference. He is in the best shape he has ever been in and finished his legs of H2C in PR time.
Kristina has started doing CrossFit as well and she has come to enjoy it as much as he does. She has also been diligently working on her novel and is getting her first short story published. In between all of that, she manages to write on her blog (www.tenminutemissive.com), coordinate the Christian Education program at our church, and get three kids off to school on time.
Isaac is in the 5th grade and is on the school’s newspaper and Student Leadership. He enjoys mythology, reading, and playing strategy games on his computer.
Amelia is in the first grade and has become an avid reader. She switched from ballet to modern dance this year and is really having fun with it. She likes to swim, read, and do art projects.
Elias is in his last year of preschool. He enjoys doing what ever his siblings are doing. He loves to build with Legos, play on his DS, and just generally keep us all smiling.
This past year the Martin family went to San Francisco for Spring Break. We all had a great time and enjoyed meeting up with our good friends the Plaxtons. In May, Bert and Kristina managed to get some time away and had a fabulous time in Jamaica doing absolutely nothing but laying on the beach.
It has been a great year that has brought us much joy thanks to our family and our many friends both far and near.
Here is to hoping you and yours had a great 2010 and will have an even better 2011.
